I am not getting much sleep anymore ~ I usually sleep very well, so that is unusual for me :-) I am tossing and turning just thinking of a million different "things". Some of these "things" are just worries that the trip will go well, that our luggage will make it to Kaz, none of the flights will be delayed and that we will find all that we need at the market in Ust. The other "things" on my mind are just parenting worries...some are pretty silly and I won't even have to worry about them for a while since he is only one so it is pretty funny I would even be thinking about them!
So we fly out Sunday night (THREE MORE DAYS!!!!!) and arrive in Almaty at 1:20 am on Monday ~ only to turn around a few hours later and get back on a plane to Ust-Kamengorsk. Since we are arriving in Ust early in the morning we will meet our son that day! I never looked forward to a Monday this much in my life ~ lol!
Oh yes...I just remembered my greatest worry ~ COFFEE! I l ove my coffee. I love it from Dunkin Donuts, but when beggars can't be choosers I take what I can get. My dh will be fine since he loves his Green Tea, but what about me? Well, I did indeed pack my little travel coffee maker! What I am worried about is not having creamer. I can bring powdered but it's not the same as that delicious half and half :-)

Dawn...we also had coffee worries! We ended up bringing 3 lbs of ground coffee (Starbucks being our beast of choice :)) and a french press. In Kaz, we found that the yellow triangular package of "milk" was the closest we could come to cream, and it worked so well, I never even dug into the non-dairy creamer we brought. Happy last Valentine's Day as just Dawn and Joe...next year it will be Happy Valentine's Day to the three of you!
SO excited for you Dawn....soon your son will be in your arms. Glad your day is finally coming for you.
Yeah! Only a few more days. I can't wait to see the pictures! Promise you will update your blog every day even if you have to go to an internet cafe. i will die without an update!
I remember not sleeping well before we went to Guatemala. I kept having dreams that I was forgetting something. We left in the middle of the night to catch our plane, and while I was laying in bed trying to get some sleep, I kept remembering what I forgot to pack, so I kept a pen and paper next to the bed so I could get up and write myself notes! I drove my husband crazy, but I don't think I forgot anything!!
No sleep? Gee, I can't imagine why. This will prepare you for becoming a mommy!! I love DD coffee too. One of the things I remember about Kaz is how strange it was not to see people walking around with a "to go" coffee/tea. A regular sight for sure here in the US. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the selection in the grocery store. You'll find just about everything you need. The fruit juices are awesome. Very tasty and an amazing variety. Take some peanut butter is you can't live without it because that is something that you probably won't find. ONLY 3 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!
I am so happy you are leaving in just 3 days!! I hope your trip will go smooth. Somehow I just KNOW it will. I am looking forward to reading your blog.
3 more days!!! That's awesome. I can't wait to see the post of your first day with your son.
