I Want to be on a Plane TODAY :)

"Mommy - Daddy...I heard you are coming back for me soon! I can't wait to come home!"

God, I wish I could get on that plane right now and go get our son! We can't wait to see him and hold him and kiss him again. It feels like forever since I have seen him. By now - we have learned that nothing moves quickly in Kazakhstan...so we know we are more than likely going to have to sit tight for at least a few weeks.

We still have yet to find out the sex of Inna's newborn. She is being deprived of her rights simultaneously for both children. We have inquired about the process to adopt this child as well, but we have not made any decisions yet. We weren't planning on adopting two children at once...and obviously finances and our small home play into our decision.

Hello Stephen! I'm glad you'll be coming home soon.

As you know we adopted our two at the same time. It was overwhelming and crazy at times but I wouldn't change a thing. I'll pray that you make the best decision for your family.

Best wishes,
Alli

He's worth the wait! What a cutie. I wish you could be on a plane to get him right now.

Wishing you peace with whatever decision you make regarding baby #2.

What a cutie! I've missed seeing his adorable face. Two kids at once is hard- at least I had 6 1/2 months to get adjusted to one before the other came along. Just like Alli said, I wouldn't change a thing. I know they were both meant to be in our family. I'll be anxiously awaiting your return to Kaz!!

It is good to see Stephen's smiling face again.....and looking forward to the news that says you are getting on the plane. If you decide not to adopt Stephen's siblings.....ask if you can at least get pictures of Stephen with him/her so he will know about the sibling and I would want to know if and when he was adopted so that if an American family adopts him/her.....Stephen and this sibling could know each other and the blessings they received. I am praying you can work it out to adopt the other sibling...that would be so wonderful for all.

Praying the weeks go fast for you.

Dear Dawn, Joe and Stephen: IF Kazakhstan lets you bring home Stephen's sibling, do it, do it, do it!! Hey, they are used to sleeping several babies at a time in the cribs, you can make do in your small home to have the blessing of "2", if it works out that way. Don't fret...all you need at first is hugs, kisses, clean clothes, diapers, carseats, and a safe place to sleep. Whew! Thanks for keeping us posted, Love, Karla

Dawn,
I still think you should write a book about this chapter in your life. Oh my gosh, he is soooo darling. If you decide to adopt his sibling, do you have to wait 6 months or could that happen when you go to pick up Stephen? Children are such a blessing. Keep us posted.

I'm so glad you guys will be bringing Stephen home soon. Best of luck making a decision on Baby #2. Even thought we adopted 2 at once, and have absolutely no regrets, I understand that it isn't the right path for everyone. You and Joe seem to be honest enough with yourselves that you will make the right decision for your family.

In the meantime, I hope the wait to return to Kaz is not too long!

I know that is a big decision and there's probably many things to consider. As far as space, all a kid needs is love. My 3 boys all sleep in one room in a set of bunk beds. (The twins sleep on one bunk.) All 3 of my girls sleep in one room on a set of bunkbeds. (Again, the twins sleep on one bunk together.) My oldest has her own room and won't sleep there. She wants to be with everyone else. The gwins won't sleep apart (they're 9). Big rooms, lots of toys and stuff is totally irrelevant to a kid whose only real need is love.

I'm so happy that you are getting Stephen and I hope that you will be given peace one way or another about baby #2.
