Hi,No it is not just you. While I was and still are an information junkie, my husband did not read any info, although he would look at the pictures.During our first adoption, I worked in the operating room and was not reachable by phone, my husband on the other hand was always reachable either in his office or by cell phone, so he was the contact for us from everything to paperwork , updates and hearing first we were traveling. Our agency told us how rare and great it was to be talking to the husband about all the adoption stuff rather than the wife or Mom. He was also much less anxious than I was about what ifs and whens. But the minute he saw our son, it was over and in court the first moment he tried to answer a question from the judge , he busted out in tears. We had a been together for almost 20 years at that time and it was the first time I ever saw him cry. As far as info, when we were eating dinner or in the car, I poured out all the info I had gathered about adoption from Russia, he either absorbed it silently like a sponge or once in a while asked a question. For what's its worth, a year after coming home with our son, I announced one evening out of the blue that I wanted to go back for daughter. Now mind you, We had never EVER discussed going back in anyway. But he look at me for a minute, asked was I serious and seeing that I was ,turned around walked to the phone, called our agency and asked what do we need to do to get the ball rolling for a daughter.,8 months later we were on a plane to meet her.
Mars and Venus can make a pretty good team.
