Another Fun Day with Stephen!

Stephen loves to clap hands!

One of the other boys in Stephen's group stopped at the door to visit :)

He is too funny...he always puts the pacifier to the side of his mouth...he is teething.

He enjoyed this ball today

He found Mommy's tongue fascinating to touch and watch!

"Dad can I fit this ball through here?"

"Hmmm...I don't think it fits."

"Daddy you should take the mask off."

"Another picture!?!"

"Thanks Mommy ~ I was thirsty."

He looks so alert today :-) He is just a doll! His big blue eyes are going to drive the girls crazy later in life! I recognize the little blonde guy behind him in the pictures. Hoping he finds a home soon! The love Stephen is feeling really shines in the pictures! He'll never long for love again!

He is so adorable and looking more and more healthy. I love the pacifier on the side picture as yesterday I saw a little boy in the ladies bathroom at the movie theater just like that and little blonde cutie and today this picture of Stephen. So cute.

Our daughter used to rock herself too. It fades with attachment...but one thing that I did was when I saw her rocking, I'd pick her up, put her on my shoulder, and rock her. Motion soothes them. We also would play head, shoulders knees and toes by touching each body part and tickling. Songs that they can anticipate are great to keep their movement and stimulation directed by you instead of by them. You have to remember that they have not, until this point, had anyone working to stimulate them, so they have to stimulate themselves. My daughter even banged her head against the wall. It was so sad:( Something else I learned to look for was overstimulation. Sometimes when we would sing and play, my daughter would get overwhelmed and begin to rock and suck her fingers. I learned that we needed to introduce new songs slowly and sing quietly so as not to scare her. But I can tell you that now she is completely enchanting, coming to us for comfort, stimulation, etc. It takes patience, time, and creativity...I remember how anxious I was during the entire trip....now I wish I would have tried a little more to be in the moment instead of always worrying about the details. God will take care of the details...enjoy yourselves Mom and Dad!

OMG I had to go back and compare photos from day 1 to today's photos!! What a difference a few days of Mum and Dad love does for a little one!! I particularly love the second photo - he is a handsome little dude isn't he?? Stephen looks so alert today and as for the smiles on your faces - they are brilliant to see - you so deserve this happiness.
