ADOPTION GRANTED!

Wow! I can't tell you what a weight has been lifted from our shoulders! Court went well this morning. The hardest part was waiting around for the judge to call us all in. Once we entered the judges office there were two ladies there as well. One was the prosecutor and the other I have no idea what her function was. The judge read us our rights and asked us if we have any problems/conflicts with any of the people in attendance. "No." Then we stood and reada our speech - first me and then Joe. Sveta translated and then we were aksed two simple questions and told to sit. The representative of the MOE spoke and requested that the adoption be granted as it is in the best interest of the child. Then the director of the baby house, Dr. Natalia spoke and stated that she requests that the judge grant our adoption as well.

When all was said and done we were asked to step out of the room while the judge made his decision. He called us back in within five minutes and read a statement that he was "satisfying our application" and Sveta told us the adoption was granted. So, in fifteen days he will officially be Stephen Joseph De Lorenzo.

What an awesome feeling! The first bit of good fortune we have had in a VERY long time! We visited with Stephen this afternoon and Joe was sad since this was his last visit as he leaves in the morning. I told him I am sure the time will go fast and we will all be together soon! I can't wait to close this chapter of our lives and move forward.

Congratulations De Lorenzo Family! I felt such a sense of relief after our court day and I was even more excited to actually see "Sapp" printed on my babies passports! It was so neat. Even this day, I marvel at seeing their name in entirety. We are planning a Disney trip and we got their airline tickets and there they were again :-) It's nice you will have extra "Mommy" time! Joe, the time will go fast and in no time, your family will be together again! We are thinking of all of you during this time!

Congratulations Mommy and Daddy! I remember the exact moment the Judge approved us to be Hannah's parents. It's like no other feeling in the world! The waiting time will be over soon and you will be home before you know it. Enjoy your time left in country now that the stressful parts are over.

Wishing you all of God's blessings,
Regina

Congratulations you guys - so glad court is over and it went well. It is a huge relief. Dawn, good luck over the next few weeks without Joe. My husband and daughter came home after court and I flew solo until Orin could come home too, it will take a few days to adjust to being on your own. You and Joe have had your routine which will change to now Dawn's routine until Stephen comes home from the BH and then it will be what - a routine? I have a baby now, what is that?!?!?!?!?!

Keep smiling, snuggle your baby and count down the days until you get to leave Almaty. Luckily you have other adoptive families there with you, get out as much as you can and meet others. It will help the time go by. I swear I knew Almaty street by street by the time I left, I would walk it everyday to get out of the apartment with Orin!

Congratulations.....we are so happy for you! It has been a rough ride to this point, but now you will just be moving forward and enjoying life with your new son. I know it will be hard without your husband, but you are right it will go fast and then you all will be together again.

Blessings, Beckie
