Some news...

We were told that Monday there will be a pre-court hearing. We should know a date for the actual court hearing by Monday. At least this is a small step forward. We really just want to see progress toward a decision. We hate having Stephen be the one suffering due to this period of limbo. I know that he is being cared for, but NOTHING can take the place of a mother and father's love, care and attention. As I have said previously, Stephen is very delayed...he cannot sit up on his own and he is one year old! He needs immediate attention and love. I pray this nightmare ends soon..very, very soon.

I must return to work on Monday. I will be a substitute so that if I need to return to Kaz in mid-June I can leave without worrying about grades and report cards. I am not sure how I am going to deal with being back at work. One part of me knows that it may help to be at work and busy, but another part of me feels like I just don't want to face the world.

I am pleased to hear that you will recieve some official news regarding the hearing on Monday. While it is not a final decision, it does move your case forward with the hope of resolution in the near future. I know that your return to work will be bittersweet and that you will have to answer the same questions regarding Stephen and your court process over and over. I am praying that God grants you the peace of spirit to absorb all the love your co-workers have for you and the strength to answer their questions.

I'm glad you got some news and things will be progressing. I know it will be hard to go back to work, but hopefully it will be comforting and will keep you busy.

Dawn,
I don't blame you....I would not want to face the world...but I hope it will help your time to fly faster to that time you can go to KZ and bring Stephen home. He needs to be home with you both and praying that happens soon.

Dear Dawn and Joe: I am so glad that you have a little bit of information. You are correct, it would be better if Stephen was w/you, but, once home, he will catch up quickly...as far as returning to work, that is hard...on one hand, it will be good to be back on "familiar" territory, with people who care about you...but, it will be hard to have to have the stamina to go thru that every day. Prayers still w/you, Love, Karla

I am glad there is SOME progress. I will keep my fingers crossed. You know if the court date is in the next month, and it is in your favor, Jerry and I can pick Stephen up and escort him to Chicago if the timing works out. We would be happy to help out.

Glad to hear that they are setting a pre-court date. It's good to hear things are indeed moving.
I'll be thinking of you on Monday as you wait for the date and head back to work.

It's good to know that things will be moving forward, even if only a little step at a time.

I hope that going back to work is positive for you too. Sometimes keeping busy doing things completely unrelated to home and family can help give you a break, both mentally and emotionally.
